Tom Król is a painter whose work interrogates the possibilities of communication and community through contemporary painting. His visual language draws from everyday aesthetics and recontextualized motifs. With a keen sensitivity to exhibition space and seriality, Król’s practice reflects on the medium of painting itself - its boundaries, gestures, and social dimensions.
Król studied at Hochschule für Gestaltung Offenbach (2010–2017), with guest studies at the Academy of Fine Arts Düsseldorf and the Académie Royale des Beaux-Arts de Bruxelles. His work has been exhibited at Neuer Aachener Kunstverein (Aachen), Kunstverein Augsburg, Flutgraben (Berlin), fiebach, minninger (Cologne), White House Gallery (Belgium), and Rod Barton (London).
He lives and works between Berlin and Cologne.
