When ArdorU was just an idea, one thing was clear: whatever we made had to be good for the planet. Not just on paper, but in practice. We didn’t want performative promises. We wanted materials and methods we could stand behind, fully and transparently. So we did the research. We studied how paper is sourced, milled, transported, and recycled. Along the way, we learned something hopeful: when done well, paper is one of the most renewable and responsible materials available. Much of our stock comes from heritage paper mills in Europe, where government-supported forests are actively maintained. Trees are grown with intention, old ones are cleared, and ecosystems are protected. Our card stock is Cradle to Cradle Certified® at the Gold level, FSC® certified, totally chlorine-free, and fully traceable from forest to final product. Our papers are archival too, meaning they’ll last. We hope some of these cards don’t just get read once, but get kept, framed, and cherished for years to come. We also evaluated our inks and adhesives, choosing biodegradable options that make our cards and envelopes fully recyclable, and even compostable. The goal is simple. When you send an ArdorU card, you should only have to think about the message inside. We’ve made sure the rest holds up. We’re proud of the choices we’ve made. And we’ll keep making better ones as we grow.
