Stephan Dybus is a German visual artist and illustrator living and working in Berlin. His practice moves between acrylic painting, watercolor, plasticine sculpting, and contemporary 3D work, blending these modes into a visual language that sits just left of the familiar.
Through his simplified, instantly recognizable characters, he turns the lens on self image and self optimization in contemporary life. His work has appeared in The New York Times, The New York Times Magazine, The Washington Post, The Atlantic, and The Economist, alongside exhibitions in venues around the world.
